چکیده
This document describes an Ethernet-Tree (E-Tree) solution framework for supporting the Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF) E-Tree service over a Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) network. The objective is to provide a simple and effective approach to emulate E-Tree services in addition to Ethernet LAN (E-LAN) services on an existing MPLS network. (IETF). It represents the consensus of the IETF community. It has received public review and has been approved for publication by the Internet Engineering Steering Group (IESG). Not all documents approved by the IESG are a candidate for any level of Internet Standard; see Section 2 of RFC 5741. متن کاملA Detail Review on Multiprotocol Label Switching ( MPLS )
Multiprotocol level switching is a promising technology which plays a vital role in new generation network by improvising QOS scalability speed and it also provide some other features like traffic engineering. MPLS came with a framework that is proficient for routing, switching and forwarding. MPLS has a permit to developing an environment of end-to-end circuits by using any transport protocol....
متن کاملLayer 2 Vpn Architectures and Operation
Users need high speed and low latency transmission for new applications. Since Ethernet is the dominant LAN technology, service providers wish to offer new Ethernet services as Layer 2 Virtual Private Network (L2VPN), to meet the requirements of these applications. MultiProtocol Label Switching (MPLS) is one of the most suitable technologies to deploy L3VPN and can also be used to realize L2VPN...
متن کاملTraffic engineering in MPLS networks with multiple objectives: modeling and optimization
With the increasing usage of QoS-based applications, traffic engineering in communication networks has become more crucial. For the optimal utilization of network resources, service providers need to consider multiple criteria that can be customeror traffic-oriented. Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) has been developed to apply more convenient traffic engineering in autonomous systems. This ...
